Volunteer Opportunities in Summer

Teens have several options for earning volunteer hours. Teens from across Anchorage can read and submit a book review, more information below, or they can join us for in-person volunteering.

For the calendar of in-person volunteering opportunities across all 5 Anchorage Public Library locations, see the calendar here.

Teen Book Reviews

Is your teen looking for volunteer opportunities? Do they have opinions on a book? Teens age 12-18 can email a brief (at least 100 words) summary and review of a book they've read this year, with their name and grade to: APLTeen@anchorageak.gov

Participating teens earn 1 volunteer hour with every review submitted. Reviews have a chance to be featured on the Teen Instagram, the Anchorage Public Library website, or on a display in the teen space at Loussac Library.

VolunTEEN Fridays at Loussac

VolunTEEN Time is paused at Loussac Library for the month of May. Please join us again in June, Fridays from 4-5:30pm. If you are in need of volunteer hours, please check out the opportunities available at our other 4 library locations or send in a book review!
