NASA at the Anchorage Public Library
Meet a real NASA astronaut in a program for all ages! Rex Walheim will be visiting all five APL locations Tuesday, July 30th-Saturday, August 3rd to share his experiences in space.
Weekly Summer Concerts @ Loussac
The sunshine is here! Get your blankets and sunglasses and head to the Loussac Library lawn on Thursdays at noon June 6-August 15 for our summer concert series, Live @ the Library.

Chugiak-Eagle River Closure Update
On May 10 the Chugiak-Eagle River library was closed due to damage caused by the November 30 earthquake. The library will re-open on Tuesday, June 11th.

Friends of the Library Book Sale, May 3-5
Join the Friends of the Library for the spring book sale at Loussac. Doors are open from 10am-4pm on Saturday and 12-4pm on Sunday. Members of the Friends get preview access on Friday from 6-8pm.
Update: Donating Materials to APL
Starting April 1, Loussac Library will only accept donations Tuesday-Thursday, 10 am-1 pm. Limit 2 boxes per donation. Donations to branch locations must still be coordinated with the branch manager.

APL Friends of the Library: Beyond the Stacks
Join us Saturday, April 6 for Beyond the Stacks. A fundraiser benefiting the Friends of the Library. Proceeds help sustain essential library programs like Summer Discovery and Live @ the Library.
Prop 3 – Preserve the Past and Invest in the Future
The April municipal Vote-By-Mail election contains Proposition 3, a bond to rehabilitate essential municipal facilities, titled AREAWIDE FACILITIES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BONDS.

APL Hours During Earthquake Cleanup

Celebrating Alaska Book Week October 7-13
Alaska Book Week is an annual statewide event celebrating the written word. Readers of all ages are treated to a week of author talks, book signings, panel discussions and readings.

We're celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Scott & Wesley Gerrish Library and Community Room Building. Library boosters and the Turnagain Lions Club will host a BBQ and community activities Saturday, May 19 from 12-2 pm.
Mountain View Provides Access to 3D Printing
The Mountain View Library is encouraging patrons to get creative and try new technology. Using our 3D printer, community members have come in with an idea and turned that idea into reality.
