Downtown Library
Anchorage Public Library (APL) and the Anchorage Library Foundation (ALF) are working to re-establish a downtown library made possible by a generous bequest from Janet and John Goetz.
Due to damage from a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, August 1, the Mountain View Library will be operating with alternate open hours and limited library services until further notice. Municipal staff are working to restore services and ensure the space is safe for library workers and the public. Thank you to our amazing library friends for your kind notes, e-mails, and calls. We hope to be back sharing #907LibraryLove soon.
Effective August 14 please visit us in the Library Community Room Tuesday - Saturday, 11 AM - 6 PM.
What to Do
Holds
You may place new holds as normal, and items will be available for pickup during the posted hours.
Computers
Computer and Wi-Fi access will be available but may be limited due to capacity, APL will not be accepting cash payments for printing
Returns
Items may be returned via the exterior drop box on the west side of the building, or to any other Anchorage Public Library location (Muldoon, Chugiak-Eagle River, Loussac, Girdwood). Please return items promptly so that others may borrow them.
Events
All on-site events are cancelled until further notice. Please check our calendar for the most up to date information.
Resources
Mountain View Library will resume selling bus passes starting on Tuesday, September 15. Purchases are limited to 4 passes and cash only - no credit or debit cards at this time.
Support
We have no specific needs at this time, however If you would like to support your library, donations may be made to the Anchorage Library Foundation.
