APL Remembers Former Library Director

Anchorage Public Library recognizes the passing of former library Director Keith Revelle. Mr. Revelle served as Assistant Director from 1974 – 1976, and Director from 1977 to 1988, and was at the helm when the current Loussac Library building was conceived and built. He  was born on December 20, 1942, in Woodland, California. Received his bachelor’s degree from the University California, Berkeley in 1964 and his MLIS from Simmons College in Boston, in 1967. Before serving as Library Director in Anchorage, Mr. Revelle worked for the Latin American Library of the Oakland Public Library, serving in various capacities including Director from 1970-1974. He also served as Vice chairman Alaska Governor's Advisory Council Libraries, and on the board of the Anchorage Concert Association, Anchorage Civic Opera, the Basically Bach Festival, and was a member of the Municipal Art Selection Advisory Committee.
