Bring your wiggliest toddlers to the library for an active storytime! We'll get up and go but we'll also sneak in some books. Stories alternate with songs and rhymes that incorporate a huge parachute! Best for ages 18 months to 3 years; all families welcome.

Programming Note: Seating is limited to first come first serve and events start promptly. Please double check your destination to arrive on time to enjoy the program.

Parachute Storytime vs. Family Storytime vs. Saturday Morning Storytime: which should you pick?

We have many options for storytime that can work for any family. Here's how they differ:

Family Storytime: sit together in a circle for longer, more story-oriented picture books alternating with rhymes and songs. Material is aimed at preschoolers.

Parachute Storytime: sit, stand, kneel, and jump together with the huge parachute for action rhymes and song alternating with shorter stories. Material is aimed at toddlers up to 3 years old.

Saturday Morning Storytime: similar to Family Storytime. Mr. Red picks the mix of rhymes and books based on the audience of the day, but typically there's something for everyone ages 0-7ish. Caregivers with children may enter as early as 10:00 AM for kids-only browsing before the library is officially open (see listings.)

We have many options for times, dates, and storytime presenters across the Anchorage Public Library's five locations. Find your new favorite storytime here.
