Buy the library's signature flavor "To Chai For," and proceeds will go to support your library. Available in cans, growlers, and on tap at the Zip Tap Room. Must be 21+ or accompanied by an adult 21+.
Join APL for an evening of Dungeons and Dragons! Both new and experienced players are welcome. This event is for teens and adults 14 and over. There will be two tables for beginners as well as space for you to bring your own campaign. We will have some supplies, but please bring your own if you have them.

PAWSitive Reading is a special program designed to provide young children (Kindergarten-4th grade) with a stress-free environment to practice their reading. Whether you're a seasoned home chef or a beginner in the kitchen, this program offers a wonderful opportunity to expand your culinary horizons and connect with fellow food lovers. Each participant must register in advance before the monthly potluck. On the first Wednesday of each month, the club will explore a specific culinary theme, cookbook, or cuisine that will serve as the focus for the next meeting. Members have the option to participate in a potluck.
While the Club strives to provide a diverse range of recipes, it may not be able to accommodate all allergies or dietary restrictions. Participants with specific dietary needs should exercise caution and consult with a healthcare professional or qualified nutritionist before preparing or consuming any Club recipes.

How scary of a story can you write in only 2 sentences? Your horror story may be about any terrifying topic or gruesome subject but will be disqualified if it doesn’t follow the 2-sentence rule. Contest starts Saturday, Oct. 5 and submissions must be received by Saturday, Oct. 26 by 6 PM. Stories will be voted upon as a blind review by library staff and a winner will be notified by Saturday, Nov. 2. Enter by dropping off your story at the library or email susan.sommers@anchorageak.gov with “Horror Story” in the subject line. Contest open to teens,12-18 years-old, who reside in the Municipality of Anchorage.

It's Hagfish Day! We'll watch a brief presentation on the humble hagfish, an eyeless, eel-like creature that lives and scavenges in the deep sea, and reflect on the importance of biodiversity. Then we'll do a slimy hagfish craft!

Whether you're a seasoned home chef or a beginner in the kitchen, this program offers a wonderful opportunity to expand your culinary horizons and connect with fellow food lovers. Each participant must register in advance before the monthly potluck. On the first Wednesday of each month, the club will explore a specific culinary theme, cookbook, or cuisine that will serve as the focus for the next meeting. Members have the option to participate in a potluck.
While the Club strives to provide a diverse range of recipes, it may not be able to accommodate all allergies or dietary restrictions. Participants with specific dietary needs should exercise caution and consult with a healthcare professional or qualified nutritionist before preparing or consuming any Club recipes.

Sign-up to read to a dog! Therapy dogs are patient listeners for new and struggling readers. Reading sessions are 15 minutes and can be reserved in-person starting at 3:45PM on the day of the event. The final session begins at 5:15PM.
PAWSitive Reading is a special program designed to provide young children (Kindergarten-4th grade) with a stress-free environment to practice their reading. Therapy dogs are patient listeners for new and struggling readers. Children who participate learn to associate reading with a positive experience and build confidence while practicing reading
