Two times a year, the Friends of the Library hold a book sale. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Library which are then donated to the library for programming and collections. Typically the book sales are the first weekends in May and November.

Donate Materials to the Book Sales
The Library accepts donations of like-new materials for the book sales. We're especially interested in donations of hardcover bestselling titles and authors in both fiction and nonfiction, picture books, juvenile and teen series and DVDs.
Donations can be delivered in boxes or bags to the loading dock at the Z.J. Loussac Library (facing Barrow Street, near the book drops) Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (excluding holidays). Large donations are to be coordinated with the Loussac or Neighborhood Library Manager. Contact.
The Library does not accept the following materials: VHS and audio tapes, magazines, text books, law books, encyclopedias, or condensed editions.
Local Author Fair

On Saturday, May 5, in conjunction with the Spring Friends of the Library booksale, Z. J. Loussac Library will be hosting our first ever Local Author book fair. Authors and illustrators will be featured in the atrium of the library for this one day local author sale!
Benefits for authors:
- A table and two chairs at the event in the Loussac atrium
- Advertising done by the Anchorage Public Library and Friends of the Library
- Visibility to thousands of booksale customers and Saturday library patrons
Responsibilities of authors:
- Bring and manage their own stock, including all payments for books
- Keep their table manned for the entirety of the booksale, 10am to 4pm
- A $20 pyament/donation to the Friends of the Library
Authors can begin registering on Monday, February 12 at 10am. Spots will be on a first come, first reserved basis. After registration, authors will receive an invoice from the Friends of the Library. Any tables that have not made their payment by Wednesday March 14 will lose their spot and we will begin contacting the wait list.
