The Friends of the Library hold book sales the first weekends in May and November at Loussac Library. Book sales include books and DVDs for all ages and come from community donations and library discards. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Library which contributes between $80-120K a year to the library for programming and collections.
Donate Materials to the Book Sales
** Donations Moratorium August 18 - November 13, 2018 **
The community has been so generous that we currently have more donations than we are able to handle at this time. We appreciate your patience as we get caught up. Be sure to join us at our Friends of the Library Book Sale November 2-4.
When we are ready to accept donations again, here are the guidelines:
The Library accepts donations of like-new materials for the book sales. We're especially interested in donations of hardcover bestselling titles and authors in both fiction and nonfiction, picture books, juvenile and teen series and DVDs.
Donations can be delivered in boxes or bags to the loading dock at the Z.J. Loussac Library (facing Barrow Street, near the book drops) Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (excluding holidays). Large donations are to be coordinated with the Loussac or Neighborhood Library Manager. Contact.
The Library does not accept the following materials: VHS and audio tapes, magazines, text books, law books, encyclopedias, or condensed editions.
