Summer Reading

Every summer, Anchorage Public Library invites students and families to track their summer learning and reading activities to win prizes! Children and youth that continue to read and learn over the summer will fight the "summer slide" (loss of academic progress during the summer break) and develop a lifelong love of reading and learning! Learn more: why summers and summer learning matters.

Everyone is eligible to participate! Babies to elders!

If you complete your summer reading challenge, you will be entered in a prize drawing!

Readers to the Rescue! If Anchorage reads 250,000 minutes as a community, we will donate $2,500 to Children's Lunchbox.

Virtual Reading Rendezvous!

This weekend (Saturday May 16) would have been our 20th Annual Reading Rendezvous. While we can't celebrate the kick off of Summer Reading on the Loussac Lawn, we CAN still get out and read, walk, sing, play and write together!

As you head out on your weekend adventures, take our BINGO card with you and be sure to tag us Anchorage Public Library and #907LibraryLove when you get a BINGO!
